Let’s talk about cat colors.

Calico is my favorite color for a cat to be.  It is a pretty exciting color, because you can tell a lot about the cat’s genes just by looking at it.  Not only can you tell that the cat has two X chromosomes, but you can also tell which one is inactivated where.  You can practically see the Barr bodies!

Most of the cats I draw are grey, black or white though.  This is because drawing calico cats is hard.

If I ever have to make a joke about calico cats I’ll figure it out, but until then, it is single-color cats.
