There's a place for us
A time and place for us
Hold my hand and we're halfway there
Hold my hand and I'll take you there
Somehow
Someday
Somewhere
I have your place right here:
Your time is in about half a second, assuming the grand piano of death starts from rest.
West Side Story gets an Eponine award for killing off the character I dislike the most in a work of fiction. Nominees that did not win include:
Le Petit Prince: While one is free to use one's imagination, it is never established beyond a reasonable doubt that the sheep ate the rose. I hate that rose.
The Bible: This didn't win because I am uncomfortable grouping it with works of fiction. It is not because I am irrationally doubtful; I am quite content to believe that Lot died somewhere between Genesis and Peter.
Gone with the Wind: Obviously this didn't win.
Super Mario Brothers: Killing off just doesn't seem meaningful when you can get another life by eating a green mushroom. Mario is a punk in this game, and everybody wants to be player 2 despite inability to pause the game.
Macbeth: Despite the fact that half the cast of characters is killed, Macduff AND Malcolm live.
I'll send you back to the essence
